Jamshedpur, April 7: Jharkhand won three bronze medals at the East Zone Tenni-koit Championship held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack from March 29 to 31.
The men�s team lost to Bengal 1-3 to finish third, women�s lost 2-3 to the same opponent. Jharkhand�s pair of Mohammad Shahabuddin and Shivani Murmu also lost 2-3 to the same opponent in the mixed doubles.
Jharkhand State Tenni-koit Association (JSTA) had sent an 11 member squad (6 men and 5 women) for the Cuttack meet.
JSTA president S R A Rizvi Chabban said the women�s team lost to Bengal in a nail biting finish.
Saraswati Das and Lalita Bharti performed well but we had to lose against Bengal. Both received accolades from the crowd.
