Jharkhand: Model school’s boundary wall construction from MGNREGA convergence

Ranchi, February 16: Jharkhand MGNREGA commissioner Rajeshwari B discussed convergence with the school education and literacy department for construction of boundary walls in model schools through MGNREGA.

Significantly, model schools are a pet project of chief minister Hemant Soren and aims to provide CBSE pattern English medium studies with infrastructure at par with private schools in all blocks of the state.

Rajeshwari B instructed that work should be done as soon as possible for the construction of boundary walls in government schools and directed that if needed, a standard estimate should also be prepared for this. ,

She said that there should not be any shortcoming in the quality implementation of the ongoing schemes. The amount of labor component from MNREGA head should be used as per the provision.

Significantly, under the Adarsh Vidyalaya Yojana (model school project), 4,496 schools are being developed as Adarsh Vidyalaya by the government. Under which 18 model schools out of 89 model schools run by the Department of School Education and Literacy on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state have been selected for the construction of boundary wall.

Rajeshwari B informed that initially boundary wall will be constructed in 18 model schools through convergence with MNREGA. The amount of labor component will be given from MNREGA head for construction.

In the meeting, she also said that it will be mandatory to put up a board related to the schemes to be implemented through convergence, the amount of wages and material items, the amount made available for the labor component from MNREGA and the minimum wage rate at each workplace.
