Jamshedpur, July 23: Minister Banna Gupta expressed his strong disapproval of the new budget, stating that the Prime Minister had once again burdened middle-class families with taxes. “After winning the elections, we expected tax relief, but the opposite has happened, with election expenses seemingly imposed on the middle class,” he said. Gupta criticized the budget for offering internships on EMIs instead of jobs to youth and neglecting farmers and women. He accused the government of cheating workers and laborers and stealing budget ideas from the Congress’s manifesto, which promised a permanent first job.
Gupta also criticized the Union Minister, who had been made the election in-charge in Jharkhand, for failing to deliver anything to the people of the state. He expressed surprise at the lack of mention of health services in the budget, noting that its funding had been reduced, which he interpreted as a sign that the BJP government did not care about people’s lives. “The government has not learned anything from emergencies like the Corona pandemic, which is regrettable,” he added.
Overall, Gupta described the budget as an ‘eye wash’ and accused the government of displaying an anti-tribal mentality by giving development funds to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh while neglecting Jharkhand. He also suggested that Uttar Pradesh, the state where the Shri Ram temple is located, had been neglected as a form of electoral revenge against its people.
