Jharkhand: Khadi Board offers 20-25% discounts on Gandhi Jayanti

Seraikela: The Jharkhand Rajya Khadi evam Gram Udyog Board (Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board) is offering significant discounts on Khadi clothing on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. This much-anticipated event on Gandhi Jayanti will feature special discounts ranging from 20% to 25% on various Khadi garments at the Khadi Emporium.

Customers can enjoy a 25% discount on ready-made garments, silk items, bandis, and shirts, while a 20% discount applies to silk sarees, cotton fabrics, poly cloth, blankets, lungis, towels, and bed-sheets. Manoj Sharma, the In-charge of Kharsawan Khadi Park, highlighted that silk sarees were available at prices ranging from ₹2,300 to ₹14,000. For the first time, silk bandis for women have been introduced and are gaining popularity, with a 25% discount on these items. Additionally, the new range includes Tussar Silk, Modi Bundis, Modi Kurtas, and shirts.

Khadi’s trendy appeal

Manoj Sharma stated that Khadi clothing remained a fashion trend, with designs tailored to suit market demands. The collection featured a wide variety of designer garments that appealed to all age groups, especially the youth. “There is high demand for shirts, kurtas, long kurtis, palazzos, ankle-length pants, and ladies’ bundis in latest designs. The Khadi silk sarees also come in numerous varieties, confirming that Khadi is consistently in vogue,” Sharma said.

Production centers in Jharkhand

Khadi clothes are crafted in Kharsawan, Kuchai, and Chandil, with Katiya Silk garments produced in the Khadi Park located in Amda, along with production centers in Chandil and Kuchai. This facility offers a range of woven fabrics, from cotton to silk, while design work is done externally. Khadi products, including Bundis, Tussar Silk sarees, Kurta-Pajamas, women’s kurtis, stoles, suit sets, Dokra products, and terracotta items, are also available at outlets of the Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board.
