Jamshedpur: Speculations are rife in the state on the names of probables who could be picked by Narendra Modi in his Union Cabinet to represent Jharkhand. Bharatiya Janata Party has won 12 out of 14 seats in the state in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014.

Out of the 12 MPs, five have been elected for the first time. They comprise Dr Ravindra Kumar Rai, state BJP president, former DGP of Jharkhand BD Ram, MP of Jamshedpur Vidyut Varan Mahato, Sunil Kumar Singh and Jayant Sinha. Khunti MP and former deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Kadiya Munda has been elected eighth time for the Lok Sabha.

For Ram Tahal Choudhary, it is the fourth time when he has been elected to represent Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency. He won the election after a gap of 10 years following his defeat in the hands of Congress leader and former Union tourism minister Subodhkant Sahay.

Giridih MP Ravindra Pandey has also been elected fourth time while Sudarshan Bhagat, Nishikant Dubey and Laxman Gilua have been elected second time. Among all the party leaders, Kariya Munda is the seniormost apart from Ram Tahal Choudhary. Another senior BJP leader from the state is Yashwant Sinha who has been Foreign Minister as well as Finance Minister in the Union Cabinet earlier. He is an experienced party leader having administrative experience.

State BJP president Dr Ravindra Rai has also worked as a minister in the state government. Godda MP Nishikant Dubey is also considered to be a leader with links in the power corridors of New Delhi. He may also get a chance in the Union Cabinet, sources said.
