Jamshedpur : Jharkhand Animal Welfare Society (JAWS) conducted a Winter Drive for strays wherein a combination of few other activities like feeding, collaring and adoption of stray puppies and kittens were also taken. The deputy secretary of JAWS Utkarsh Kashyap said that the objective behind this drive was to provide strays with winter wear to protect them from cold.
Kashyap further reiterated that the society has also started an adoption drive of stray animals in steel city. It was aimed to inculcate the idea that strays are beautiful too and that adopting strays not only helps them but also the society. JAWS continues its ongoing activity of tagging radium collars to stray animals. The radium collar glows in the dark, which protects both animals and human beings from accidents and injuries.
For the drive a lot of young enthusiastic youth from the city joined and provided for food and old clothes and rugs for the drive to the strays across the city. The society president Dr Arun Kumar Jhs said – ‘We look forward to more enthusiastic youth to be a part of us and help us in our cause to make the society a better place for our animal citizens too.’
The main objective was to provide strays with winter wear to protect them from cold during winter Radium Collars glow in the dark they are used to collars strays to protect them from accidents and injuries also to protect citizens. Adoption Drive was to focus on Adoption of strays dogs in the city to inculcate the idea that strays are beautiful too and that adopting a strays not only helps them but also the society.
