Jamshedpur’s Yes Bank sealed after 8 test COVID-19 positive

Jamshedpur, March 26: District Administration on Friday sealed Yes Bank premises at Sakchi in Jamshedpur after eight of its employees and customers tested positive. The action was taken by Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee. The bank was sealed and authorities ordered proper sanitisation of the area.   The health department conducted tests of the bank staff. Out of 40 eight tested positive. The city has witnessed more than 18,000 positive cases so far.

Ravi Bharati, city manager of JNAC, said that the step has been taken to arrest the spread of the virus.  He said that residents should not leave their homes unnecessarily, if it’s urgent they need to go out then they must use masks, as well as wash hands with soap and sanitiser at regular intervals.

He added that shops should allow only a limited number of customers into the premises at a time. “Social distancing is a need of the hour and we shall enforce it,” he added. “People visiting shops, banks, offices, and establishments — all of them are already aware of precautions to be taken, if they do not implement mask wearing and ensure safe distance, the city police will initiate legal action. This has already started,” said the official.

He called upon the people to enforce wearing masks and social distancing in public spaces. He urged citizens to enforce mask wearing and social distancing. Orders have also been issued to identify shops or market places that are inviting crowds and not paying heed to the safety norms.

The East Singhbhum district had its first Coronavirus positive case on May 12, exactly four months from now, when a 23-year-old girl and a 27-year-old youth from Chakulia were admitted at the Tata Main Hospital.   Since May 12, the Coronavirus continued to spread across the East Singhbhum district and in 10 months has crossed the 18,000 mark.
