Jamshedpur, Jan 9: Tata Steel Zoological Park has invited citizens of Jamshedpur to take part in a special public engagement initiative by naming two female tiger cubs born at the zoo on November 27, 2025. This offers residents a chance to be part of a memorable moment in the zoo’s history.

According to zoo authorities, the tiger cubs are healthy and doing well. They are currently under close observation and are being monitored round the clock through CCTV surveillance to ensure their proper health and development. As per established zoo protocols, the cubs will be introduced to the public display area after completing three months.

Citizens wishing to participate can submit meaningful name suggestions for both female cubs by sending their entries via SMS or WhatsApp to 8709572018. Entries must follow the prescribed format, mentioning the proposed names for both cubs along with the sender’s name and location. The last date for submitting entries is Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

A selection process will be carried out by the zoo authorities, and the final names will be officially announced on January 16, 2026. Winners will be informed individually.

The senders of the selected names will receive six complimentary zoo visitor passes, valid for three visits during 2026, one complimentary cart ride for six persons on the first visit, and a special photo opportunity with another tiger at its enclosure, subject to availability. Zoo officials described the initiative as a joyful opportunity for citizens to connect with wildlife conservation efforts.
