Ranchi, January 24: The 60th National Cross Country Championship 2026 was held on Saturday at the Kutiyatu Army Ground in Namkum, Ranchi, Jharkhand. The national-level event witnessed participation from teams representing almost all states of the country. Teams from the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), All India Police, paramilitary forces, and Railways also took part in the championship.
The competition featured 10-kilometre races for senior men and women. In the Under-20 category, men competed in an 8-kilometre race while women ran 6 kilometres. Under-18 events included 6 kilometres for boys and 4 kilometres for girls. A 2-kilometre race was held for boys and girls in the Under-16 category. Sports commentator Shyam Kumar Sharma of Jamshedpur efficiently conducted the event as master of ceremonies and announcer.
