Jamshedpur, August 30: The 15th T20 Asia Cup cricket tournament is underway in the UAE. The tournament being hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket is being played among six teams of the Asian cricketing nations during which 13 matches will be played. Two of them have already been played, expectedly raising the excitement quotient. All the matches are being telecast live as also live commentary on the national network of All India Radio (Prasar Bharti). Shahid Anwar, the senior announcer, programme anchor, radio drama director of the Jamshedpur station of All India Radio has also made a mark as Hindi commentator in national and international sports. Shahid Anwar will commence his latest rendezvous with the Afghanistan-Bangladesh match on Tuesday. The radio broadcasts of the T20 Asia Cup cricket tournament is being broadcast over AIR’s FM Rainbow station and on its other national broadcast channels.
It may be mentioned that Shahid Anwar, who has commented in World Cup cricket and many other international sports events, is an experienced broadcaster. His new assignment in the UAE was a matter of pride for the officials at Akashvani Jamshedpur who have warmly congratulated Shahid for his new commentary assignment.
