I grew up in Steel City, which used to celebrate Durga Puja on a grand scale. I have vivid memories of my experiences during the festivals. I have recollected those to author a book. The huge idols of Goddess Durga in all her finery with her ashta bhuja, a symbol of power, remind me of my mother multitasking in her varied roles. Times have changed and so have circumstances. Women so respected in every era had to take a backseat, but the goddess in her plays her part befittingly, said Rajshree, currently in New Zealand along with her husband Anand Krishna, former senior official of The Tinplate Company of India Limited.

She said that every phase of womanhood is like the nine days of the Durga Navratri, with celebrations bringing with it, her spirit of a strong homemaker, loving wife, and a mother through her compassion and her uprightness.

Rajshree presently resides in Dehradun, where she volunteers with monks and nuns at monasteries imparting teachers training techniques, summer activity classes and English speaking classes in Dehradun and Ladakh.

Her passion for teaching saw her in St Marys English School Bistupur, Jamshedpur Public School, Baridhi, DBMS English School, Dhatkidih and her last stint was as the Vice Principal, Kasidih High School before she moved base and joined the corporate sector, Heading Corporate Social Responsibility Department of Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar, Haryana, working towards women empowerment and rural sustainability projects.

She served as Charter President of Inner Wheel Club of  Jamshedpur East. Her passion for creativity and organizing saw her as the Chairperson, Entertainment at Golmuri Club.

As a freelance writer on Buddhism and Life which features in Linkedin, she has compiled her experiences as her second book called Buddhism Thru My Lens, which is all set to be published.
