Jamshedpur’s Prem Devi Agarwal eyes will gift light to the world of visually impaired

Jamshedpur, August 1: Even after her demise, Prem Devi Agarwal (73 years), a resident of Adityapur City Palace, her eyes will gift light to the world of visually impaired persons. This has been made possible due to the initiative of the Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) Jamshedpur. With the consent of late Prem Devi Agarwal’s son Jitendra Agarwal and daughter Beera Agarwal, the eye donation took place at the Adityapur residence on Monday, July 31. The process was coordinated by the Marwari Mahila Manch’s executive committee member Lalita Saraiwala. Roshni Foundation’s Taru Gandhi, Secretary Parvinder and Dr Ajay Gupta, an eye specialist, performed the eye donation medical procedure.

The eye donation and body donation campaign conducted by the Marwari Mahila Manch sets a guiding example for the society. On this occasion, the President of MMM, Beena Agarwal, extended her gratitude to Prem Devi’s relatives, Roshni Foundation, and Dr Ajay Gupta. “Such acts of selfless service inspire and set a noble precedent in society.

MMM’s eye donation campaign Programme coordinator, Sushila Khirwal informed that Prem Devi’s sudden demise occurred at 5 PM on Monday, and her last rites were performed accordingly. “The eye donation campaign by the Marwari Mahila Manch continues to be successful and the awareness among people for eye donation has significantly increased. It is indeed heartening to see that people are now actively coming forward to contribute to this cause,” she observed.

MMM executive committee member, Lalita Saraiwala said, “The Marwari Mahila Manch provides all services related to eye and body donation free of cost. It is our (MMM) appeal to all members of society that if any unfortunate event occurs in their family, and they wish to donate the eyes of their beloved family member who has passed away, they can contact the Manch’s President Beena Agarwal (9304833999), Sushila Khirwal (9431952424) and Seema Agarwal (7858016351) for assistance.”
