Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Ulidih police arrested a youth for sending obscene message and harassing a women police official at Ulidih thana for the last two months.
The youth has been identified as Amar Singh, a resident of Mango and was caught by police after fed up with repeated sending of obscene messages and videos and also making video calls the woman police officcial lodged a complaint against the caller based on his mobile phone number 7859039155 at the Ulidih thana on Wednesday. In the evening the police traced the caller and nabbed the caller.
Though police are officially denying arresting of the youth who has been harassing a woman sub-inspector hailing from Gumla and posted at the Ulidih OP for the last two months. The youth did not relent even after the woman SI threatened of initiating action as she was a police official.
Ulidih thana in-charge, Meghnath Mandal informed that a case has been lodged by the woman official and they are investigating into the case.
Significantly, this is not the first case of a woman police official being harassed by youths who have been later arrested.
