Jamshedpur youth drowns in pond at Baharagora

Jamshedpur, Nov 14: A 36 year-old youth, identified as Mukesh Kumar, drowned in a pond in Gobrabani village under Baharagora police station area on Thursday. He had reportedly gone into the pond to take bath, but drowned in the deep water, sources said.

Baharagora police registered a case of unnatural death in this connection and sent the body of the deceased to MGM Medical College for post-mortem examination. Cops suspect the youth died accidentally.

Sources said the deceased was a resident of Line No 4, Road No 12, Block B, Namda Basti, Golmuri. The deceased was a fish trader and associate of Biram Baskey of Baharagora. Around 6.30 pm, Basanti Devi, mother of the deceased, was informed that her son had disappeared. A towel, oil and slippers were found on the banks of the pond, sources said

Subir Kumar, brother-in-law of the deceased, was informed about the incident by his mother-in-law. Around 11 pm, the body of the deceased was fished out of the pond.
