Jamshedpur, Dec 2: A class V student, identified as Samridhi Kumari, died after being crushed by a speeding tanker at Dimna Road on Monday.
Sources said the mishap occurred when Vivek Kumar, a resident of Vasundhara State, Mango and father of the deceased, was going to drop his daughter at RVS Academy, Mango. Near Shiroman Nagar gate, the tanker knocked down Vivek�s scooter. Samridhi, riding pillion with her father, fell on the road. Before she could get up, the tanker ran over her head, causing her instant death.
Police seized the tanker and registered a case against its driver.
The school organized a condolence meet after which all students were sent home.
