Jamshedpur sees slight dip in fresh Covid infections


City reports 562 new cases, 732 recoveries, 11 deaths 


Jamshedpur, May 9: The number of new  
cases of Covid-19 declined for the first time in weeks while recoveries went up in Jamshedpur on Sunday, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.

At least 562 fresh cases were reported while 732 people were declared free of coronavirus 
infection on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, city recorded 1025 fresh Covid cases.

During this period, total 2927 Covid 
tests were conducted in Jamshedpur.

City reported 11 deaths on Sunday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 42389. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Sunday
11 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, The death toll has climbed to 830. The total active cases are 6591.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 300923 test per million in the district.The Kadma locality of Steel City continues to be a Covid hotspot. 

As per the records of health department  out of 2927 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 562 were found positive.

As many as 34968 people have recovered from COVID-19 so far with 732 recoveries recorded in the last 24-hours. Over 2500 COVID-19 tests, including 2137 RT-PCR and 382 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

The recovery rate in Jamshedpur has dropped down to 83.60 % while the mortality rate is 1.96%.

So far in Jamshedpur 808352 samples have been collected out of which 801056 have been tested and 758667 have turned out to be negative.
