Jamshedpur Schools to remain closed from January 7 to 13 due to cold conditions

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has announced the closure of all schools for classes KG to 8 across the state, including Jamshedpur, from January 7 to January 13, due to the ongoing cold wave. An official order issued by Nandkishore Lal, Joint Secretary of the government, states that all government, private, aided, and unaided minority schools will remain closed for these classes during this period.

However, classes for students from 9 to 12, as well as all residential schools, will continue to operate as usual.

Teachers in primary and higher primary government schools have been directed to report to work and complete tasks such as Apaar ID generation and household surveys for U-DISE 2024-2025 during this time. Secondary and higher secondary school teachers will also assist in these activities.

Additionally, on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti (Prakash Parv), January 6 has been declared a holiday, and all schools will remain closed on that day.
