Classes from KG to 8 postponed in Jharkhand
Jamshedpur, April 29: In consideration of the scorching heat and heat wave conditions prevailing in Jharkhand including Jamshedpur , the state government has decided to postpone classes from Kindergarten (KG) to 8th grade until further notice. This decision applies to all government, non-government, aided, and unaided schools, including minority institutions, across the state.
As scorching temperatures sweep across the region, authorities have taken the proactive measure of temporarily shutting down schools in Jamshedpur. The decision comes amidst concerns for the safety and well-being of students.
The relentless heat wave, with temperatures soaring well above normal levels, has prompted officials to prioritize the health of students.
The postponement aims to safeguard students’ health amidst the intense heat wave. However, the order does not affect the attendance of teachers and non-teaching staff, who are required to continue their duties during regular school hours. Their tasks include evaluating answer sheets, publishing results, preparing report cards, and entering student-wise marks online in e-VidyaVahini.
An official from the Jamshedpur District Administration, stated, “Given the extreme weather conditions, it is imperative to safeguard our students from potential heat-related illnesses. Therefore, all schools in Jamshedpur will remain closed until further notice.”
Residential schools will continue to operate as usual, while classes for students above 8th grade will be conducted from 7:00 am to 11:30 am. Additionally, prayer meetings, sports, and outdoor activities will be suspended during this period.
The order comes into effect from April 30, 2024, and will remain in force until further notice.
The closure affects both public and private educational institutions, impacting thousands of students. While the announcement may disrupt academic schedules, authorities emphasize the necessity of prioritizing the health and safety of the youth.
Local meteorological agencies have issued warnings about the prevailing heat wave, urging residents to take precautionary measures. They advise staying indoors during peak daytime hours, keeping hydrated, and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities.
Parents and guardians have been advised to closely monitor weather updates and adhere to safety guidelines issued by authorities.

Will hazaribagh will also get holiday?
I am in class 9. In this hot weather it is very difficult to go and come from school.
During dismissal ( 11: 30) the temperature raises to to 40°-43°C which is very difficult to tolerate by the students.
I will be grateful to you if you look into this matter as fast as possible.
