Jamshedpur Police arrest two youths for allegedly setting six vehicles on fire

Two separate gangs of mobile phone snatchers nabbed

Jamshedpur , April 9 : Police on Monday arrested two youths for allegedly setting six vehicles on fire in Bistupur locality on January 25. Those arrested were identified as Anubhav Agrawal and Gurjeet Singh, residents of Diamond Road in Bistupur and Gurudwara Bustee in Bistupur.

Two more youths are still absconding. The absconding youths are identified as Adarsh Sharma, a resident of Jugsalai and Ramanuj Singh, a resident of Khasmahal in Parsudih.

Superintendent of police (city) Prabhat Kumar said the youths who were travelling in two two-wheelers had torched the vehicles for fun.

” As per our investigation the four youths, including the two arrested had come riding two scooter and had first set a scooter parked in front of Gujarati Sanatan Samaj past midnight. Then they had subsequently fired two more scooters and a motorcycles parked in adjoining Contractors’ Area. Later they had gone over to the area near Hotel Sonnet. They had set two cars, including an SUV parked in the parking lot of the hotel,” said Kumar while talking to the newsmen today.

Kumar said �Acting on a tip off, but also scanned the CCTV footage collected from the Hotel Sonnet and also from the Contractors’ Area. Beside arresting the two, we have also seized one of the scooters they had used in the crime,” said the senior police officer.

Significantly, apart from detecting the cases of vehicle torching, the police busted two separate gangs of mobile phone snatchers by arresting five youths. Those arrested were identified as Surat Raj (20), Chandan Sharma (20), Dhiraj Kumar (18), Rahul Rajak (19) and DilanwazGaddi (19).
