Jamshedpur picnic spots bustle on New Year’s Day

Jamshedpur: The city embraced the onset of 2024 with diverse celebrations, marked by joy and devoid of significant incidents. Social and religious groups exchanged New Year wishes, complementing formal festivities.
City hotels stole the spotlight on New Year’s Eve, captivating audiences with mesmerizing dance performances. The celebration continued into the late night, with hotels hosting special dinners.
Bollywood tunes echoed through various hotels as people danced joyously. Housing complexes in Sonari and Kadma joined in, organizing functions to welcome the New Year.
The first day saw parks like Jubilee Park, Dimna Lake, and Hudco Dam teeming with picnickers. Meanwhile, zoological officials reported record-breaking footfalls, with 20,000 visitors on January 1.
Social worker Ramesh Saksena, spreading a message of peace at Jubilee Park, emphasized reflecting on both achievements and failures in the New Year. He suggested incorporating songs and choreography addressing social issues into celebrations.
“Besides counting our achievements, we should consider our failures also and strive for improvement in the New Year,” emphasized social worker.
