Jamshedpur, Sept 20: Two autorickshaw drivers, under the influence of ganja had forcefully abducted a minor girl from the Joggers Park at Ramjanam Nagar at 9 pm on Monday, September 16 and raped her at Fagu Baba cremation grounds. She was reportedly chatting with her friend Suraj Modi of Ramjanam Nagar at the Park when the incident took place.
On Thursday evening at around 4 pm, one of the accused Sunny Tangi, a resident of Ramnagar, was nabbed by the police based on a tip off. The other accused Amit Giri is absconding but the police have reportedly laid a trap for him.
On the night of Monday, September 16, immediately on receipt of information, the Sonari police swung into action and recovered the girl from the vicinity of the power substation at Fagu Baba cremation ground. An FIR was registered under the POCSO Act and she was sent for medical examination. The examination confirmed rape. The police had the girl record her statement under Sec 164 in court where she spoke of being raped by the two accused.
