Jamshedpur: The Vidyadeep Foundation will host the grand Jamshedpur Literature Festival on December 20–21 at Hotel Ramada, Bistupur. Described as a unique confluence of literature, dialogue and cultural renaissance, the festival aims to connect ideas from the Northeast to Delhi and beyond.
More than 100 renowned writers, thinkers, Padma awardees, innovators and cultural personalities from across India will participate. The two-day event will feature over 25 sessions, including cultural evenings, youth dialogues, book launches, workshops and felicitation ceremonies.
A special session titled “From Shankaracharya to Veer Savarkar” will be addressed by Delhi University DSW Dr. Ranjan Tripathi, moderated by senior journalist Bhawanand Jha. Another philosophical session featuring scholar Dr. Arun Prakash will explore spiritual journeys from Guru Granth Sahib to the Bhagavad Gita.
The North East Echoes session will highlight cultural and linguistic diversity with speakers Morjum Loyi, Dr. Tadam Ruti and Dr. Milan Rani Jamaatia. Journalist Jayprakash Rai will moderate.
Five veteran writers—Dr. C. Bhaskar Rao, Dineshwar Prasad Singh ‘Dinesh’, Arvind Virodhi, advocate Lakshmi Nidhi and Nirmala Thakur—will receive the Vidyadeep Veteran Literary Honour.
Registered participants will receive ID cards, meals, participation kits and certificates. Organisers say the festival will be “a historic cultural milestone for Jamshedpur.”
