Jamshedpur: Laborer hit by sand-laden tractor, dies

Ghatshila, August 24: In an accident on Saturday a laborer was killed after being struck by a sand-laden tractor on Kashida Hurlung Road near Soradabar village, under Barajuri Panchayat in the Ghatshila police station area. The incident attracted a large crowd to the scene.

Zila Parishad member Devyani Murmu arrived promptly to gather information from the tractor driver and local residents. The tractor, bearing registration number JH05AF 4427, was transporting sand from Ghatshila to Hurlung when the accident occurred. According to the driver, a sudden sound of a blast from the radiator of the tractor near Soradabar startled the laborer, Marshall Tudu, who was sitting on the tractor. In a panic, Tudu jumped off and the rear wheel ran over him, causing his immediate death.

Marshall Tudu was a resident of Kadamdih village in the Musabani block. The police have seized the tractor and taken the body for postmortem at the subdivision hospital in Ghatshila. An investigation has been initiated. Local leaders, including Mukhiya representative Mono Samad, Panchayat Samiti representative Naveen Sao, and Lalit Krishna Bhakat, were present at the scene.
