People brave winter chill for season’s first Jam@Street in Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – The steel city’s favorite community carnival, Jam@Street, made a grand return to the streets of Bistupur on Sunday morning. Organized by Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL), the event turned the stretch from Bistupur Police Station to the Diagonal Road Traffic Signal into a massive playground, despite the biting morning cold.

The primary objective of Jam@Street is to encourage citizens to step out of their homes, embrace a healthy lifestyle, and engage in sports and community bonding.

A Mix of Devotion, Wellness, and High-Octane Fun

The streets were blocked to traffic from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, making way for a diverse range of activities:

  • Spiritual & Healing: The ISKCON Temple team filled the air with ‘Hare Rama, Hare Krishna’ chants, while the Pranic Healing team conducted sessions to help residents tap into their inner energy.

  • Fitness & Sports: The Tata Steel Sports Department organized wall climbing, chess, basketball, handball, badminton, and football.

  • JFC Zone: The Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) counter was a major hit, where fans won jerseys, stickers, and keychains by participating in football skill challenges.

Startups and Gastronomy

While some health-conscious visitors flocked to stalls serving sprouted grains and salads under the “Pahalwan Food” banner, the youth were seen enjoying handmade chocolates, heart-chocolate brownies, burgers, and pizza. Several local startups also used the platform to showcase their products, and free blood pressure check-up camps were organized for senior citizens.

Music and Dance Heat Up the Cold Morning

The event resonated with live performances from local youth bands and a non-stop rapper who kept the crowd dancing. Thousands of youngsters were seen recording videos and sweating it out to the beats, effectively beating the winter chill.

According to officials, more than one lakh residents participated in the event. The district administration and TSUISL teams were present throughout to ensure a smooth and safe experience for the massive gathering.
