Jamshedpur, Jan 2: Though dusk settled down on Jamshedpur Horticulture Society’s (JHS) 32nd Annual Flower Show at Gopal Maidan on Monday, January 2, the fragrance of excitement and awe lingered well after the last of the spectators had left. The four day Jamshedpur Flower Show that was inaugurated by Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar on Friday, December 30 was a splash of breathtaking colours on the canvas of nature – an event that the citizens savored after a two year hiatus caused by COVID-19 scare.

Tata Steel MD and CEO, TV Narendran, the chief guest at the closing ceremony, gave away the trophies to the winners of various categories of the Flower Show. The event showcased the exhibits of, besides XLRI, other institutions, hotels, transport and other companies and individuals adding upto 28 exhibitors.

XLRI (Institutions) and Saizer Transport (Amateurs) bagged the top awards in various segments and emerged Overall Champions in the 32nd Flower Show organized by JHS. In the amateur categories Shatraman Koda, Hemendra Kumbhkar, Omkar Gupta, Aditya Mahto, Afsar Mumtaz, Sanjay Maharana and Amit Singh were the award recipients.

King of the Show (Institutions) was Economic Cargo Movers and Queen of the Show (Institutions) was Vig School.
Pramod Singh was declared the King of the Show (Amateurs) and Prerna Todi bagged the Queen of the Show (Amateurs).

Best display (Exhibits) Institutions award was also won by XLRI.
Best display (Exhibits) Institutions (Out Station) awarded was bagged by Tata Steel Kalinganagar.
Sen Nursery won the Best Display Award (Nursery Stalls).
Shutterbugs too had four field days as they clicked breathtaking snaps to keep for posterity. The best among the best 15 photographers were Srishti Kumari (first), Sneha Paul (second) and Saiyad Sajjad Parvez (third).
