Jamshedpur, February 23: Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle has said his team is ready for a tough challenge against East Bengal FC in their first away match of the season on February 27. Despite the difference in financial resources between the two clubs, Coyle expressed confidence in his side’s ability to compete strongly.
Speaking after Jamshedpur FC’s second consecutive win, Coyle acknowledged that East Bengal have invested heavily in their squad this season. However, he stressed that success is not determined only by budget. “We’ve shown before that you don’t need the biggest budget to build a strong team,” he said.

Jamshedpur FC have started the campaign positively, collecting six points from their opening two matches. Coyle described the strong start as crucial in a short league season. He said early wins help avoid the pressure of catching up later in the competition.
While satisfied with the results, the coach admitted there is room for improvement. He felt the team controlled large parts of recent matches but conceded possession too easily at times. He also said the final pass and finishing in attacking areas need to be sharper.
Coyle praised the team’s defensive performance, highlighting two consecutive clean sheets. He said the players have shown strong commitment in defending as a unit.
Looking ahead to the Kolkata clash, Coyle called it a demanding test but said his team will prepare well. He added that if Jamshedpur FC perform at their best, they are capable of securing another positive result.
