Jamshedpur, Dec 20: East Singhbhum district education department convened a meeting of representatives of all teachers’ unions on Tuesday to hold discussions for preparing the annual holiday calendar for the year 2023. The meeting was held at People’s Academy Plus Two High School, Baradwari.
District Superintendent of Education (DSE) Nishu Kumari said the meeting was called with the view to prepare the list of holidays with the consensus of all teachers for the New Year, a tradition that has been followed in the district over the years.
“Different districts have their own festivals. Therefore the holidays are decided with consensus. There are 60 holidays in a year as per provision,” said the DSE.
