Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, accompanied by a team of administrative officials, undertook an arduous journey to Kolabadiya Tola, a remote settlement in Gudabanda block surrounded by dense forests and hills. The officials traversed challenging terrain—first on motorcycles and then on foot—to directly interact with villagers and understand their pressing issues.
During the visit, residents shared a range of long-standing problems including the absence of an all-weather access road, lack of electricity connections, drinking water scarcity, inadequate housing, and the need for a permanent Anganwadi centre to provide nutrition and essential services to mothers and children.
Responding to the concerns, the Deputy Commissioner directed the departmental officers present to take prompt, priority-based action to resolve each grievance. He stressed that all development schemes must be implemented transparently so that benefits reach the intended families without delay. He also instructed officials to connect villagers with livelihood opportunities and schemes related to agriculture and animal husbandry.
Inspecting the local primary school and temporary Anganwadi Centre, the Deputy Commissioner interacted warmly with children, inquiring about their lessons, attendance, and access to study material. He encouraged them to attend school regularly and focus on their studies, assuring teachers of the administration’s support to improve educational facilities in the village.
Emphasizing the importance of community involvement, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to residents to actively participate in the implementation of government schemes and to report issues at the Panchayat and Block levels for timely resolution. He underlined that the government’s goal is to ensure development reaches the last person standing, adding that regular visits to such remote areas help the administration understand ground realities.
Sub-Divisional Officer Ghatshila Sunil Chandra, Block Development Officer Dangur Kodah, local Panchayat representatives, and officials from various departments were present during the visit.
