Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Sep 26: East Singhbhum district administration has ordered the removal of dilapidated buses parked at Mango bus stand. Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav has issued orders to the Special Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) in this direction.

JNAC Special Officer Sanjay Kumar led a team to conduct an inspection of the bus stand. A list of 28 buses lying unused and rusting at the bus stand has been prepared by the JNAC and provided to the DC for further action. Such buses have not plied on road for the last several months. Their parking at the bus stand has resulted into a space crunch for those buses which are still running on road. Operational buses are parked outside the stand on the main road, causing traffic jam every now and then, sources said.

Taking serious note of the traffic jam situation outside the bus stand, the DC has directed the JNAC Special Officer to issue notices to bus owners and ask them to remove their vehicles on their own within 48 hours. Action should be taken in case the bus owners do not cooperate with the JNAC, the DC said.

In case the bus owners do not remove their vehicles from the bus stand, they will be made to pay parking fee to JNAC at commercial rate, sources said. District Transport Officer (DTO) has also been apprised about the administrative action against illegal parking of buses.
