Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Training sessions for Presiding Officers and Polling Officers for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024 commenced on Tuesday in two phases at Jamshedpur Cooperative College. The training program, conducted by the District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Manish Kumar, aimed to prepare officers for their crucial roles in the electoral process.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of responsible conduct during voting and urged officers to thoroughly understand their duties. Stressing the pivotal roles of Presiding and Polling Officers, he instructed trainers to provide detailed guidance on their responsibilities.
Officers were directed to familiarize themselves with the operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines to ensure smooth polling operations. Deputy Development Commissioner emphasized adherence to Election Commission guidelines for transparent and efficient elections.
The training covered various aspects of the electoral process, including setting up of polling stations, voter identification, voting procedures, and vote counting. Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, Director NEP Shri Ranjit Lohra, and other officials were also present during the training sessions
