Jamshedpur Bar Association polls conclude peacefully, counting today

Jamshedpur, Feb 7: Polling for the election of office-bearers of District Bar Association, Civil Court, Jamshedpur, concluded peacefully on Friday.

As many as 1369 advocates cast their votes to elect 16 office-bearers. Counting will take place tomorrow.

The voting began at Bar Building at 10 am. Within minutes of its commencement, advocates made a beeline to the polling booth, exuding enthusiasm. The voters showed their identity cards at the entrance to gain entry to the polling booths. Most of them were seen in court dress.

The total number of candidates in fray this time is 81. The Bar Association tenure will be for two years.

There are five candidates in fray for the post of president while five candidates are in fray for general secretary post.

There are 34 candidates for the nine post of executive members of working committee. There are a total of eight women candidates.

Three ballot papers of different colours were used for voting.
