Jamshedpur banks directed to sanction loans to 655 Mango footpath vendors

Jamshedpur, Sept 10: A meeting of bankers was convened at the office of the Mango Municipal Corporation in which all bank representatives were urged to provide loans to 655 footpath vendors in the MMC command areas. The Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojna (PMSY) includes loan amounts of Rs 10,000 each to such vendors.

It was reported that loan documents of footpath vendors uploaded online were not projected on the banks� portals resulting in glitches in sanctioning of loans. MMC Executive Officer Ravindra Gagrai said that mapping of banks had faults due to technical snags for which necessary action was being taken. The East Singhbhum LDM was urged to coordinate all banks in a manner that the loan applications were approved. It was informed that the loan application forms and related documents along with IDs of proposed footpath vendor borrowers had been uploaded online by the MNC and sent to the various banks for approval.

Those present in the meeting were MMC Special Officer Ravindra Gagrai, MNC Mission manager, LDM East Singhbhum and branch managers and representatives of Bank of Baroda, IDBI Bank, Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank, UCO Bank, Allahabad Bank, Bank of India Old Purulia Road Branch, Punjab national Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Canara Bank and other MMC officials.
