SDBEA observes Bharat Bachao Divas

Jamshedpur, Aug 9: The Singhbhum District Bank Employees Association (SDBEA) in accordance with a call given by Bank Employees federation of India (BEFI) to organized a protest meeting in front of Central Banlk of India in Bistupur decrying the central government�s move to privatize Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) including nationalized banks. They conducted the protest rally as part of the Bharat Bachao Divas (Save India Day). They also discussed and deliberated on the anomalies of the MoU of the bipartite wage negations of July 22, 2020.
Among the issues that the bank employees protested were the government�s moves to privatize PSUs, privatization of public sector banks, siphoning of public funds through IBC Code, move to merge rural banks with Indian Postal services and reducing interests on deposits. The bank employees demanded that criminal proceedings be initiated against willful loan defaulters and recovery of corporate debts bracketed as Bad Debts.
The protest meeting was presided by DN Singh. AK Moitra, Tapas Das, Sujoy Roy, Biman Dasgupta, C Venkat Rao, Dipak and other BEFI leaders spoke on the occasion.
