Jamshedpur, Sep 4: In response to the surge in dengue cases, District Magistrate Ananya Mittal has ordered intensified testing across the city and mandated fines for locations where dengue larvae are found. Following these directives, the Tata Malaria Department and the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), led by Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, conducted a joint inspection campaign.

During surprise inspections, dengue larvae were discovered in several waterlogged areas, including markets, Murga Line, Khatal, residential complexes, under-construction sites, basements, and society premises in Kadma and Sonari. The inspections underscore the urgent need for vigilance in preventing the spread of dengue within the district.

In one instance, a fine of Rs 186,200 was imposed in Sitaramdera and Sakchi, where larvae were detected. Anti-larval spraying was promptly conducted, and residents were informed about the importance of staying alert to prevent further outbreaks. Authorities have warned that stricter measures will be enforced if larvae are found again during subsequent inspections, highlighting the district’s commitment to combating dengue.
