Ranchi: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the examination schedule for Class 8, Class 9 and Intermediate (Class 11). According to the notification issued by the council, all subject examinations will be conducted on OMR sheets, and candidates will be given an additional 15 minutes to read the question paper.
As per the schedule, the Class 8 examination will be held on February 24, the Class 9 examination on February 28 and March 2, while the Intermediate (Class 11) examination will be conducted from February 25. The Class 8 and Class 9 examinations will be held in two shifts, while the Class 11 examination will also be conducted in two shifts over multiple days.
The Class 8 examination on February 24 will be held in two shifts, with the first shift from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm for Hindi, English or any other language, and the second shift from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm for mathematics, science and social science. Each subject will carry 50 marks in the form of multiple-choice questions, while internal assessment of 100 marks will be conducted at the school level. Admit cards for Class 8 students will be available for download from the council’s official website from February 14, and internal assessment marks will be uploaded online between February 26 and March 10, 2026.
The Class 9 examination will be held on February 28 and March 2, 2026. On February 28, the first shift will be for Hindi A, Hindi B and English, while the second shift will be for mathematics and science. On March 2, the first shift will be held for social science and other language subjects. Each subject will carry 40 marks through MCQs, along with 10 marks for internal assessment at the school level. Admit cards for Class 9 will be available from February 20, and internal assessment marks will be uploaded between March 5 and March 15, 2026.
The Intermediate (Class 11) examination will be conducted from February 25 to February 27 in two shifts. The first shift will be held from 10:45 am to 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm, while the second shift will be from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm or 5:15 pm, depending on the subject. The examinations will cover core language subjects, physics, chemistry, accountancy, biology and optional subjects. Each subject will include 40 marks of objective questions, while some subjects will have examinations of 80 or 120 marks. Internal assessment marks for Class 11 will be uploaded by March 2, 2026.
The Jharkhand Academic Council has appealed to all schools, colleges and students to strictly follow the guidelines issued for the examinations.
