JAC Exams from Feb 3, over 39,600 candidates to appear in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) will conduct the annual Class X and Class XII board examinations from February 3 to February 23, with 39,643 candidates from East Singhbhum district.

A total of 21,301 students will take the Class X examination, while 18,342 candidates will appear for the Intermediate examination. Among the latter, 10,183 are from the Arts stream, 4,657 from Science, and 3,502 from Commerce. For the smooth conduct of the examinations, 67 centres have been earmarked for the matriculation exam and 34 centres for the Intermediate exam across the district.

The Class X examination will be held in the first sitting from 9.45 am to 1.00 pm, while the Intermediate examinations for Arts, Science, and Commerce will be conducted in the second sitting from 2.00 pm to 5.15 pm.

To maintain law and order during the examination period, prohibitory orders under Section 144 will remain in force within a 100-metre radius of all examination centres from February 3 to 23. The use of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets inside examination halls has been strictly prohibited, and candidates have been advised to report at their centres at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

Ahead of the examinations, a coordination meeting of centre superintendents and deputed magistrates was held at Sidhgora Town Hall on Saturday under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. Stressing the importance of fair and malpractice-free examinations, the Deputy Commissioner cautioned that strict action would be taken against any candidate found indulging in unfair practices.

Senior district officials directed centre authorities to ensure CCTV surveillance, adequate lighting, drinking water, sanitation facilities, and timely delivery of question papers and answer scripts, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to conducting the examinations in a disciplined and transparent manner.
