Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur circle of Income Tax department has decided to felicitate 21 top tax payers in individual and company category during the national Income Tax Day celebration on July 24.
Income tax commissioner Avinash Kishore Sahay said that it is an innovative step by the department to recognise the dedication of tax payers. He added that the names of the top tax payers would be declared on that day itself. The Jamshedpur circle comprises three districts of Kolhan- East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.
According to Sahay, the Jamshedpur principal commissionarate office collected revenue in form of income tax to the tune of Rs 421 crore in the financial year ending March 31, 2019. Last year, the figure was Rs 350 crore. In Jamshedpur circle the number of tax payers is 2.34 lakhs.
Elaborating on the IT Day celebration , he said that the main function would be organised at the Rajendra Vidyalaya auditorium. Kolhan commisioner Vijoy Kumar Singh will be the chief guest while Arka Jain University’s vice-chancellor S S Razi would be the guest of honour.
