Ranchi: Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has appealed to opposition parties to extend their support for the construction of RIMS 2, emphasizing that politics should not interfere in sensitive areas like healthcare. He stated clearly that his sole aim is to provide better and accessible health services to the people of the state, not to seek any political or personal gain.
A key governing body meeting was held at RIMS, Ranchi, where discussions focused on improving the state’s public healthcare system, managing the growing number of patients, and enhancing patient flow management.
Dr. Ansari said the increase in patient numbers is evidence of growing public trust in government healthcare facilities. For the first time in RIMS history, thousands of patients are seeking treatment daily. He added that the goal is to ensure timely and quality care so that patients can return home healthy.
The minister highlighted ongoing initiatives at RIMS, including recruitment of doctors, strengthening of pathology labs, and addressing the manpower needs of nursing and other healthcare staff. He said these efforts aim to provide modern, accessible, and dignified healthcare services to all patients.
Dr. Ansari urged opposition leaders not to politicize the RIMS 2 project. He clarified that he has no personal interest, political ambition, or stake in any land—his only objective is to ensure that funding constraints never hinder healthcare services.
The minister noted that even today, many patients from Jharkhand travel to other states for better treatment, incurring huge expenses, and sometimes even losing lives despite best efforts. In some cases, families are forced to conduct funerals in other states, a situation he described as deeply distressing.
Dr. Ansari emphasized that RIMS 2 would directly benefit millions in the state and reduce the need to seek critical treatment elsewhere. He called on all political leaders to rise above party politics and support this humanitarian effort to save lives.
He added that RIMS 2 is not just a building, but a foundation for the state’s future healthcare security, expressing hope that all political parties will unite in the public interest and play a constructive role.
