India beat Sri Lanka in U-19 World Cup semis

Mirpur, Feb 9 (IANS) strong batting by Anmolpreet Singh and Sarfaraz Khan helped India beat Sri Lanka by 97 runs in the semi-finals of the ICC U-19 World Cup at the Shere Bangla National Stadium here on Tuesday.

Anmolpreet scored 72 and Sarfaraz made 59 to guide the Indian colts to a compeititve total of 267/9 in their 50 overs.

The Indian bowlers then dismissed the Sri Lankans for 170 runs in 42.4 overs. Mayank Dagar was the most successful among the Indian bowlers with figures of 3/21. Shammu Ashan was the highest scorer for the Lankans with 38.
