Jamshedpur: Honouring the nation�s military forces is a proof of one�s patriotism. In all major countries of the world, grand functions are organized at government level to felicitate the soldiers. It is a matter of pride for all jawans to be honoured by the people. This was observed by Major Yogesh of Army Camp, Sonari, during a function organized by Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad, Jamshedpur, to pay tributes to the martyrs of Kargil War in Golmuri on Thursday.
The programme started with the participants taking out a Tiranga padyatra (march on foot) from Shahid Sthal to Golmuri Chowk. Silent tribute was given to the martyrs at Shahid Sthal. Major Yogesh laid a wreath on the memorial.
During the programme, the participants sang patriotic songs and offered tributes to the martyrs. Sweets were distributed among those present.
