Girl child falls from high rise apartment at Parsudih, dies

Jamshedpur : Tragedy struck at a highrise building at Harharguttu under Parsudih police station area on Wednesday after a child fell from the fourth floor.

A three-and-a-half-year-old girl child identified as Yukta Dalai, daughter of Jasbir Dalai, a civil contractor, fell from the building.

As the news spread, Rupa Dalai, the mother of the victim, with some neighbours rushed the injured baby to Tata Main Hospital emergency where the child was declared as brought dead.

Rupa’s husband Jasbir was not at home when the tragedy took place, and after getting the news he too rushed to the Tata Main Hospital emergency only to get the news of his daughter’s death.

Officer-in-charge, Parsudih police station, Dayanand Kumar confirmed about the fatal fall of a girl child at Harharguttu this morning.

” It is a shocking incident. A three-and-a-half-year-old girl child fell down from the fourth floor while playing at the balcony while her mother was in the kitchen.

The victim had been rushed to Tata Main Hospital emergency in an extremely critical condition, where she was declared as brought dead,” said the officer-in-charge.

Both Jasbir and his wife Rupa were not in condition of speaking as they were shocked. But the bereaved Jasbir said that his daughter died due to his own mistake. He said Yukta was his only child.
