Forest rights committee organizes gram sabha

Noamundi: Jagarnathpur sub-divisional committee of forest rights convened two Gram Sabha on 23rd June and 24th June at Tatiba football ground for the purpose of getting forest clearance for M/S Kamal Jeet Singh Ahluwalia mines owner and exporter Barbil.

The Gram Sabha (village meeting) was presided over by the village Munda (head) Haja Hembram. The villagers from tribal villages of Tatiba and Bariaburu participated in the meeting and gave nod to the clearance of Tatiba village 42.908 hectare and Bariburu village 129.99 hector forest land of Kamal Jeetsingh Ahluwalia mines as there was reportedly no tribal dwelling in the forest area of mines.

The circle officer Ravi Kishore Ram and block welfare officer Rabindra Singh Dev verified from the villagers if there was a flow of stream, burial ground, electrical lines or any government project located in the mines area.

The mines manager Pradosh Kumar Sahu explained about the location and boundary of the mines area. The sub divisional welfare officer Joseph Toppo said, �Video footage of the Gram Sabha will be sent to district level forest committee and forest department for further necessary action. The Ranger Ganesh Lal Bhagat concluded the Gram Sabha.
