Jamshedpur, May 15: Deputy Commissioner East Singhbhum, Ravi Shankar Shukla along with SSP M Tamil Vanan inspected city markets and check points and urged people to maintain social distancing. Shukla who took stock of the preparedness to combat the spread of pandemic Corona virus said the situation is much under control and there is nothing to panic.
�We request people to cooperate with administration and take preventive measures,� said Shukla.
The DC said that all protective and curative measures were being put in place as per central and state governments� directives in the matter.
�Meanwhile, district administration has also activated inter-district and inter-state check-points at 12 locations.�
The check-points have been activated from Wednesday at Jagannathpur and Kaliadia (both in Baharagora), Chakulia (for visitors coming from Odisha and Bengal), Ghurabandha (bordering Odisha), Bodam and� Patamda (Bengal), Potka and Hata (Odisha), Pardih (from NH-33), New Domuhani Bridge (NH-33), Adityapur Toll Bridge and Ghatshila.
�The senior superintendent of police East Singhbhum has deployed forces at each of the 12 check points while district administration has deputeed magistrate and district civil surgeon (Dr Maheshwar Prasad) will be deputing health officials for checking at such points on commuters especially in public and private transport for any flu-like symptoms so that they can be put under surveillance,� said Nand Kishore Lal.

Moreover, suspected people are being screened,�said� Sukhla. Those having complaints of sneezing and fever will be asked to remain in home quarantine for the next 14 days.
�We will take swab samples of the suspects for getting them examined in the MGM Medical College.
We will also keep a vigil on those returned so that they do not develop some symptoms,” said the official.
He said the district administration has set up quarantine centres as they expect hundreds of migrant labours to return to the district within the next few days and many of them may be in need of getting accommodated in the quarantine centres, they are keeping the centres unoccupied.
� �We do not have community spread now, and when it happens, it will be a huge challenge. We are ready to manage any situation.
We have isolation wards in medical college hospitals and quarantine facilities,� an official said.
Officials of Tatanagar railway station informed that the situation is being constantly monitored and coordinated at all levels.
The official said that desks have been set up all over the railway system and the staff has been sensitized and educated about the subject.
The collaboration and coordination with the concerned health authorities are also being ensured.
