Chaibasa: Eye specialists will be stationed at the Sadar Hospital emergency ward during the Holi celebrations on March 4, 2026, to handle festival-related medical emergencies.
The decision follows a formal request by district Congress spokesperson and social worker Trishanu Ray. Ray highlighted that while eye injuries and irritation from chemical colours are common during Holi, most private eye clinics remain closed for the holiday, leaving residents with few options for immediate care.
Emergency Eye Care Schedule
The Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer of West Singhbhum has issued an official order deputing a dedicated team to be available from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The Medical Team Includes:
- Doctors: Dr. Selin Soson Topno and Dr. Manoj Kumar Munda
- Assistants: Kavita Mahato and Raman Kumar
Why This Matters
During Holi, “color-in-eye” cases frequently require urgent medical intervention to prevent chemical burns or long-term vision damage. With this deployment, Sadar Hospital ensures that specialized treatment is accessible even while other facilities are shut down.
Official copies of the order have been dispatched to district authorities to ensure the emergency desk is fully prepared for the influx of patients.
