Jamshedpur: A meeting of representatives of domestic workers� union and other labour organizations was held at Adarsh Seva Sansthan in Sonari on Wednesday.
Around 60 domestic workers from 35 different localities were present on the occasion. The purpose of the meeting was to evolve strategy to strengthen the domestic workers� union and get them registered to ensure that their voices are heard at various levels of administration, said the outfit leaders.
The resource-person for the meeting was Subrat Kaur, Programme Coordinator, Shristi Sansthan, Kolkata. He spoke on the various aspects of a workers� union. He said the workers should come forward and clinch their benefits.
Among those present on the occasion included Lakhi Das, Isha Kumari Singh, Alpana, Sushma, Lakhi Pramanik, Jujhar Soren and Mahabir Mahato.
