DGP Tadasha Mishra Reviews Law and Order in Jamshedpur, Inspects Kairav Gandhi Kidnapping Site

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Tadasha Mishra on Tuesday conducted a detailed review of the law-and-order situation in Jamshedpur, and carried out on-ground inspections across key and sensitive routes of the city. During her visit, the DGP assessed security arrangements, traffic management, police patrolling, and public movement, while interacting with officers deployed at various locations.

The city remained on high alert during the DGP’s visit. She directed police officials to remain vigilant and accord top priority to crime control, stressing that maintaining public safety must remain the foremost responsibility of the force.

As part of her tour, DGP Mishra also visited the spot linked to the kidnapping of businessman’s son Kairav Gandhi, who has been missing for the past 14 days. She reviewed the progress of the investigation on the ground and issued clear instructions, warning that no negligence would be tolerated in such a sensitive case.

Emphasising the need for swift results, the DGP instructed officers to make optimal use of technical evidence, keep close surveillance on suspicious activities, and accelerate the investigation. Following the site inspection, she reached the SSP residence, where she held a closed-door meeting with senior police officials.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the Kairav Gandhi kidnapping case, analysis of technical evidence, the role of suspects, and future investigative strategy. Jamshedpur SSP Piyush Pandey described the DGP’s visit as routine but significant, stating that she had issued strict directions for action against organised crime and drug-related activities.

He added that special strategies are being prepared to make the city crime-free and drug-free. While confirming that important inputs were given by the DGP in the kidnapping case, SSP Pandey said further details could not be shared at this stage as the investigation is still underway. Police officials expressed confidence that concrete results in the case would emerge soon.
