Deputy Municipal Commissioner reviews progress of Census pre-test work

Jamshedpur, Nov 12: A review meeting on the progress of the Census 2027 pre-test activities was held under the chairmanship of Mango Mumnicipal Corporation Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar. The meeting, attended by all appointed supervisors and charge officer Chandan Kumar, focused on evaluating the status of house and building listing and geo-tagging in three selected wards of the municipal area.

During the meeting, supervisors were instructed to ensure completion of the geo-tagging of all houses in their respective Enumeration Blocks (EBs) by November 14. Krishna Kumar emphasized that supervisors must remain present in the field along with enumerators to ensure accuracy and accountability.

He directed that house numbering be done sequentially and correctly marked using markers, strictly adhering to training guidelines. “No household should be left unlisted or untagged within any EB area,” he said, stressing on complete and accurate data collection.

Officials were also advised to verify layout maps received from the Directorate of Census Operations and cross-check them with the field markings. The review also included instructions for proper illumination block (IL) marking and data accuracy.

Supervisors present included Nirmal Kumar, Sujit Kumar, Jitendra Soren, Sanjay Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Rohit Ekka, Raju Tudu, Uttam Kumar and Gulam Sarwar Ansari. Senior officials from the Directorate of Census Operations, including Dilip Kumar and Sakaldeo, were also in attendance.

Later, DCLR and District Statistics Officer, East Singhbhum, along with Charge Officer Chandan Kumar, inspected areas including Sahara City, Dimna Highway and Hill View Colony, giving necessary directions to enumerators and supervisors during their field visit.
