Dentist Association observe Oral Health Month

Jamshedpur : In its constant endeavor to �Keep India Smiling�, Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited, in association with the city branch of Indian Dental Association (IDA), will observe the Oral Health Month (OHM) in December and January.

Dr Richa Angik, president, IDA Jamshedpur branch said that like every year this year to they are going to observe the oral health month. The idea is to educate people about need to take of not only teeth but also entire oral care. She said they are going organise camps at schools and educate children about ways to brush teeth twice a day.

The president elect highlighting the significance of Oral Health Month 2016, an official of Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited said, �Our recent Consumer Usage & Attitude Study (CUAS -2016) report brings forth the fact that less than one third of the population visited a dentist in the past year.

Actually, less than half of the population has ever visited a dentist in their lifetime. While there are a number of reasons for such low percentage, there is a broad consensus that regular dental visits and proper oral hygiene are the fundamentals towards a life of healthy, happy smiles.�

�Colgate -Palmolive (India) Limited in association with the Indian Dental Association has been working towards educating consumers towards adopting and maintaining healthy oral hygiene in their daily lives.

The Oral Health Month is an important part of our larger objective to �Keep India Smiling� through a focused two-month long activity where we reach out to people from all across the country through different platforms to provide them with an access to dentists and enable free dental check-ups�, he added.
