
Jamshedpur, Sept. 21: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West organised debate contest for Government School students�at Narbheram Hansraj English School on Thursday.
8 Schools of Jamshedpur took part in the debate titled �First construct roads then make laws’. The judges for the contest were Sudha Goel, Maya Sahay and Dipti Singh.
The winner speaking for the target was NH Gujarati M E School. BPM Middle School and Tata Workers Union High School bagged the second and third spot.
Speaking against the topic Andhra Bhakta SMM School won the first prize. N H Gujarati M.E. School and BPM Middle School bagged the second and third spot.
President of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West Shweta Chand said, “The goal of the event was to foster communications and encourage public speaking amongst the youth”.
Earlier the chief guest at the contest was Rotarian Abhijit Mitra was welcomed by President Shweta Chand.
The idea of having debate competition amongst Govt. school children was appreciated by all school teachers and they thanked the club for having given this platform which otherwise these children do not get.
Past President Abhijit Mitra congratulated all the participants and appreciated their views on the topic and on presentation style.
Secretary Nibha, Abhijit, Alok Sarkar, NK Goel, Anupama, Dipti, Sudha, Maya were present on the occasion.
All the participants were given certificates.
