Jamshedpur: DAV Public School, NIT Campus, organized a special visit to an old age home, aiming to foster empathy and connect generations. Twenty members of the school’s Student Council, accompanied by four teachers, participated in the program, creating an unforgettable experience for all involved.
The visit was coordinated by teachers Rekha Prasad, Sudha Singh, Rupashree Prasad and Rajlaxmi Bhatt Mishra, who warmly welcomed the students and guided them through the program. As a gesture of care and support, the school presented the elderly residents with food, beverages and other essential items.

The students displayed profound respect by touching the feet of the elderly, seeking their blessings. During the interaction, the elderly shared insightful stories and life experiences with the students, leaving a lasting impact on the young minds.
To lighten the emotional atmosphere and spread cheer, the students performed a blend of traditional and contemporary entertainment. They recited couplets from the Ramcharit Manas and sang melodious film songs, filling the home with joy and nostalgia.
Principal O.P. Mishra, also the Co-Director of Jharkhand Zone ‘A,’ expressed his appreciation for the initiative. “This visit is not just an act of service; it is an opportunity for students to learn the value of compassion and the importance of respecting our elders. It’s heartening to see the connection formed today,” he remarked.
